A normal skyline

So it seems yesterday’s experiment was a success. Either everyone loved it or the ones who hated it declined to say so. Either way, enough people liked it to make me feel like it worked. Expect more cross processings later in the year. This is the normal non cross processed version. Just HDR and some stuff in Photoshop.

So you’ll be wondering what I’ve been smoking. I was playing with the enhanced curves feature in Photoshop CS3. It had a preset for “Cross Processing” which is something I’ve always liked in other’s photos but I’ve never got it right in mine. For some reason it just worked in this shot and I actually liked it. I’m expecting no-one to like it which is why I’ll be posting a non-cross processed version tomorrow, so don’t unsubscribe just yet. It is noisy due to the HDR processing, but I feel that gives it an extra film like quality. I think its good to take risks now and then, to push limits. A cross processed HDR, definitely something in my cereal. Oh this is Toronto, not Liverpool. I’m just working through some old shots so bare with me.

For any Liverpool bloggers out there, Stuart from Feeling Listless has setup Liverpool Blogs which is about bringing bloggers in Liverpool closer together. If your name isn’t on the list, tell him.

Metropolis

Metropolis

Around 10 months ago I was in Toronto, awesome place. I’ve learnt a lot in those 10 months so I decided to reprocess some of the shots. This is a HDR of part of the skyline taken with my Sigma 24-70. The reason why I’ve posted this is because on Thursday 22nd March I’ll be exhibiting some work for the magazine, Another Late Night. They’re taking the next issue of the magazine and converting it into an exhibition. The theme is “Metropolis.” Shameless linking there but I do feel that there’s more I can squeeze out of my Toronto shots that I couldn’t 10 months ago. Anyways, the exhibition is 6pm-8pm at the Alima Centre on Sefton Street, Liverpool.
