Nathaniel Severs. An ordinary looking guy who happened to walk along Thurstaston Beach from Portsmouth. He left Portsmouth on the 10th January and has walked up here by himself. He’s walking around the UK coast line. All of 7000 miles of it. Its a bit of a crazy thing to do for sure. Apparently he was a little bored so off he went. The plan is to be back home before Xmas.
He has a website and a Twitter account you can follow. I’ve uploaded a full set to Flickr where you can watch a slideshow of the event.
New series this week leading up to a new stranger photo. Bit of time travel too. This photo is from January when it snowed and stayed around freezing for over a week. There was a boating lake in New Brighton that swans like to paddle in. Its gone now due to renovation in the area. All the locals will know of it as its always full of swans and seagulls patrol the area for bread. Due to the freezing conditions the lake froze over actually trapping one of the swans. The RSPB had were called and they enlisted the help of one of the diggers near by to break up the ice. It was too thick to break apart with a spade.
Walked past Coffee Union earlier today to find it was closed and people were removing things from it. Turns out that last night they let the staff go and the company has gone into liquidation. Horrible time for it. Fired with less than two weeks to Xmas. I’ve been going there off and on for 10 years since I was in uni. We used to go there and study. They did a great vanilla latte and a great iced one in summer. Going to be missed.
