I was wandering the city last week and I bumped into one of the AND Festival events. They toured the city projecting messages onto the side of buildings using this classic land rover. It was nicely parked up by the museums which helped create the starry background.
As part of the Bold Street Festival people in Voodoo dressed up.
In other news this blog is now over 5 years old. Technically its birthday was in August but I may as well mention it now. Its been a great 5 years and its hard to believe its been 5 years. I do plan to celebrate it more so at a later date… next August maybe.
I never planned to go to this. Sitting in the cold watching a film I probably wouldn’t enjoy didn’t really grab me. I hated myself for being so narrow minded when I got there. I wasn’t planning on going at all but I went out for a walk in the evening and figured I’d take a look on the way. I think I was there about 40 mins watching a film I had no idea about. Thats how captivating it was. What a location! Your cinema has the 3 Graces in and ships sailing by! Its incredible. The museum is perfectly designed for showing films and you’ve got to wonder why its taken 9 months to do this. I seriously hope they do more.
I did some “live blogging” via Twitter while I was there too. Wow!. There’s such an atmosphere here. I’m also expecting… Oh noes!
A really nice event in Kirkdale by the Biennial called Urbanism 09. Various artists constructed all manner of floating vehicles to sail around the Leeds – Liverpool canal. They included a tea house, a skip, an upside down taxi and what looked like a shark. You’ve got to love things like this. The ability to bring people together to some random area and see it in a whole new light is brilliant.
