Just a nice simple shot today. No HDR, dramatic skies, or anything. Just a shot from a walk around Chester. As I was heading back to my car the sun was setting and magically the ducks started swimming towards me. It was just nice. We’d have a nice walk around Chester, even though I was depressed by the wonderful architecture being branded with shop names and commercialism, and it was nice to walk by the river sipping a vanilla latte watching some ducks.

This is a shot from last year sometime, probably the Clipper Race when it finished at Liverpool. I’m playing more with Duo and Tri toning images now. I’m finding it odd, but fun. When you increase the highlights the image seems to get darker, its a bit odd. I’m off to Chester today and its overcast so I’m hoping to get some nice dramatic shots of Chester. If this image looks a bit wrong I apologise. My eyes are playing up so hopefully its ok.

So it’s the end of York and what better way to take in Armageddon than with a scenic ride on a large wheel. You’ll see the 4 Horsemen, Jesus, crazy people with billboards and yes even Superman.

While shooting a gig I turned around to get some crowd shots and at the exact same time I took my picture someone else took theirs. The timing was just unreal.

Its the early 20th century. You hear the ship horn bellow and you open the curtains. You’ve travelled for days by ship to arrive at the famous port of Liverpool and you can now take your first look at your new home. Your eyes fix on the 3 graces being led by Edward VII in a charge of sheer will towards the future. Welcome to Liverpool.

The U2 tribute band, Elevation, at the Matthew Street Festival in 2006. Just like the Queen band they really looked the part. The light was hard to work with, especially when the subject wears a hat like this. Also I am declaring my love for black and white. While I’ve always really liked it, with the 30D’s in-built black and white mode to preview shots in bw on the screen I just shoot more in BW now. I love it. Who needs colour?
